Job Description

As a Director of Finance, you will be responsible for managing and handling the company financials and accountings to make sure the company is in compliance in all aspects. Moreover, you will play a critical role in helping the company grow to the next level by actively working with team members to provide information and insight. We would expect you to be proactive in initiating ideas that can help scale the company.

  • Put scalable systems in place. Lead a team to build legit financial and accounting mechanisms and processes (either working with external parties or building an internal team) to ensure we are in compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and related compliance requirements.
  • Manage and handle all aspects of financial accounting, including cash management, petty cash, payables, receivables, reporting and analysis, and work on audits when needed.
  • Work on financial planning and analysis (FP&A) – budgets, projections, etc.
  • Work on overall cash management (treasury).
  • Advice on how to better utilize cash-on-hand.
  • Work with the team to handle payment requirements, including paying bills, sending invoices, reimbursing employee expenses, etc.
  • Discuss and work with key members to create management reports and metrics to help business strategy decision-making.
  • Partner with the CEO on investor relations. Advise on the equity arrangements. Help with options plans, 409(a).


  • Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US GAAP, bookkeeping and accounting best practices, tax laws, and related regulations.
    • Advanced knowledge start-up ecosystems.
    • Experience working in start-ups, venture funds, and building an accounting/finance team is a plus.
    • You pay high attention to detail and accuracy and learn fast.
    • Prefer working in a collaborative, creative, and fast-paced team.

    Interview process

    There are three main stages in our interview process:

    1. Screen calls (1-2 calls)
    2. Take-home quiz & review
    3. Onsite interview (3-4 hours visiting)

    If we see a fit with the company, we will reach out to start getting to know each other. You can expect traditional discussions as well as participating situational exercises. The goal of the interview process will be for us to see your skills and let you get to know the team and work culture to see if we are a match.
