About You

We are looking for a UX Researcher to develop compelling and competitive Media / E-commerce products for Asia (Taiwan and Hong Kong) markets, the majority of the Yahoo Taiwan product portfolio including Homepage, News, Sports, Finance, Yahoo TV, Autos, Shopping and Auction, across Websites & Mobile Apps. We are looking for the person with passion for exploring the way information is delivered to users through the updated technology. Your Day & Responsibilities

  • Research Identification and Objective Setting: Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to identify research needs and objectives across a spectrum of products and projects. This role involves guiding research initiatives through every phase of the product life cycle, ensuring that each step is aligned with the overall product strategy.
  • Study Design and Method Selection: Work closely with product and design teams to accurately identify research requirements. This involves designing and implementing studies using a diverse array of methods, including moderated and unmoderated remote interviews, usability tests, diary studies, surveys, CSAT, and concept tests, with the aim of effectively addressing the pertinent issues.
  • Management, Communication, and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Skillfully manage and prioritize research agendas in dynamic and evolving environments, focusing on delivering critical insights while engaging with a broad range of stakeholders.
    • Communicate research findings effectively, employing compelling and engaging techniques to convey insights to a diverse stakeholder audience.
    • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with design, product management, content strategy, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure that research insights contribute to cohesive and impactful product development outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Media Studies, Information Science, Computer Science, Economics, Social Science, or any related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience conducting UX research on consumer products.
  • Experience with qualitative and user-centered design methods (individual and group interviews, diary studies, direct observation, think-aloud usability testing, etc.).
  • Experience with quantitative research (metrics, survey design, response effects, sampling, crosstabs, and statistical concepts, etc.).
  • Proficient in storytelling and communication skills, fluent in both Chinese and English, and capable of engaging effectively with business professionals, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
